How can you appreciate the irony and wit of Shakespeare if you haven't a clue what he's talking about? That's what I think, anyway. I find it really difficult to get into Shakespeare, and I usually end up putting it down in favour of something else. This edition gives you the original lines on one page and plain English on the other, so you can read a page of Old English, then a page of New, or you can read the modern version first, to get an idea of the story, then go back to the other version. It really helps, because lets face it, schools, colleges and universities aren't going to give up on Shakespeare. And it really helps when you're doing the exams. A note on the story, although you are probably required to read it, it is a great story of jealousy and passion. Shakespeare really makes us squirm in this play, and I defy anyone to forget this play quickly.
