Fantastic - you wont put it down!

I just loved this book and found it hard to put down!
The main character Jo, is confused with her life and takes a Nanny job in London and finds in strange settling into the big city life. What I love about the main character is that she is so life like she isnt, like in some books, too barbie like! She is like a real women with real emotions, it is easy to get engrosed in her character and identify with her, as she reacts and feels exactly as you would expect her to given the storyline - Nathan does this without making the book too predictable.
The storyline is funny and sweet, the characters are fabulous and they are developed throughout the whole book. Without ruining the book I LOVED the character of Josh and I was just waiting for him to get mentioned as I turned each page as I knew there was more to him than is originally portrayed.
There are some serious lessons to be learned from this book - I found it very reflective.....
It taught me that it is important to take chances, not to judge a book by its cover (excuse the pun!) and that you shouldn't just sit back and be comfortable in life just because it suits..you'll read it and find your own meaning in the characters and the story.
Read it, it is clever, funny, witty and generally fabulous ... you wont regret it.

I really related to this character and was addicted to the plot from the beginning, as although this idea has been done many, many times before i think this is the first attempt that has really worked and i would recommend to anyone who loves a good read!!

A LITTLE GEM!
|
|
I was captivated by this novel from start to finish. I loved all of the characters but especially the tempermental Josh & the 2 detectives. The story was very funny & even the way Melissa Nathan wrote the dialogue for the children was perfect. I read The Waitress almost 3 years ago & was very disappointed & it took me that long to read The Nanny. I am truly sorry I waited so long to do so. I have 2 other of her books at home & intend reading them very soon. I was sad to read that Melissa had passed away as I think there would've been room for a sequel to this little gem. The Nanny would make a terrific film, so if there are any producers out there looking for their next project..!

A Brilliant Book!

I was treated to this book by my partner. He then had a very quite two days following because I couldn't put it down. I loved the main character who I immediately felt a connection to, the book kept me emotionally on my toes all the way through. I am now reading Persuading Annie and It seems just as good as the Nanny, I plan to get the other books by Melissa Nathan. I am sad that Melissa Nathan has passed away because her books are amazing as I'm sure she was.

Melissa Nathan at her finest.

Oh how I loved this book! Melissa Nathan possessed that rare gift of breathing life into her characters, creating fully rounded, engaging individuals who never fail to involve you in their world completely. In the case of this book, she really hit her stride and produced one of the most enjoyable books I've read for a very long time. I'll let you discover the plot for yourself; all I can say is that The Nanny will keep you up til the early hours of the morning because you won't be able to put it down. I was planning on rationing it to one chapter at a time as I always finish books much too quickly. Unfortunately, my resolve crumbled after the third chapter! Enjoy!
