Customer Reviews:
Don't Bother
If you have twins and want to follow Gina's advice DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK. Simply buy the CLB book and work around the times. Whoever edited this book should be shot as there are references to tables that don't exist and they yatter on about amounts of milk but don't tell you what they are.
Routines are necessary for twins but this book isnt!
Book went in the bin!
This has to be the worst purchase I made when I had my twins. Gina's book is far too regimented and expects the babies to behave in a certain manner and like clockwork. I'm sure her book works fantastically if you have 2 angelic babies who will sleep/eat/poo when you expect them too.

We attempted the routine and the house disintegrated into meltdown ~ contented house I think not. The routines are also very geared to breast feeding mums which is great, but I like many mothers with twins had them very earlier and they spent time in special care so breast feeding was difficult.

The routines expect you to feed Twin 1 for 15 minutes, then feed twin 2 for 15 minutes and then to go back to twin 1 for a further 15 minutes. There is no time allowed for winding and cuddles. Very clinical and unrealistic.

The other reviews are spot on, Alice Beer had it easy. I'm sure the routines would have worked for us too had my husband been at home full time and we had employed a night nanny. This was the first time the book ended up in the bin!

Save you money and buy 'The Baby Whisperer'. Fantastic book with lots of advice and a more relaxed 'routine'. Tracy Hoggs Baby Whisperer recognises that all babies are different and also gives advice for when things go wrong. Which is what I needed.

I think to score this book 1 star is being generous!
Great - for bottle feeders
I know the Gina Ford routines work for many people and even many parents of twins swear by them. Despite my first baby completely failing to fit in with the Contented Little Baby regimen (probably due to my inability to listen to her crying for more than an hour when she was "supposed" to be sleeping) I thought I would give it a go with my twins as I did not see how else I would be able to cope, especially as my husband works away from home. However, it proved to be totally impossible to maintain sufficient milk supply to breastfeed two hungry babies under Gina's rules so I resorted back to the "let the babies lead the way", "demand feeding" and "putting them to bed when they were tired" system with the result that I had two very contented and well fed little babies and a (mostly) happy toddler to boot.
I honestly believe that Gina Ford's methods are completely incompatible with breastfeeding and mothers who really care about their children's emotional and physical wellbeing.
Thank you Gina for saving our sanity
I am a huge fan of Gina Ford. We loved this book. Having a singleton is so different to twins. As a mum of 3 girls, twins born when eldest was 22 months, this book has saved our sanity.

To make the most of this book you should be familiar with The Contented Little Baby Book. The routines are quite regimented, but they work!

There are very few good books about twins, and most of them don't give you a clue was to what to do with them on a day to day basis. The routines do seem strict but sometimes it is exactly what you need when life gets very busy with twins.

Babies need routine otherwise you will never be able to leave the house without stress and tears for the next 3 years. Thank you Gina for saving us.
TRIPE
Tripe. Unless you have given birth to two programmable robots I strongly advise that you avoid this book. While I appreciate that all babies are individuals we could not successfuly apply one element of the routine proposed in the book. Sitting up feeding at 4 AM having not yet had any sleep is no fun. Reading this book at the same time looking for a golden solution is demoralising. The routines could work at Sandhurst and would probably be effective in Guantanamo Bay but a week-old twin will cry for food when it wants it, sleep when its tired and stay awake when its not. Use your common sense and don't waste £ 5.99 on this drivel.
