This is too much a picture book

The pictures in this book (taken by Michel Comte) are beautiful, no doubt about it. Yet to me they are a bit too many compared to the words. This book is supposed to be an official biography of Michael Schumacher and indeed there are some areas (e.g. family) where this book gives a deeper and more authentic insight in his life than any other book before. But I think the book is not so detailed in the racing department which is a bit of shame as Schumacher is a racing driver after all. I mean I have read a couple of biographies on Schumacher, the racing driver but I would have loved Schumacher to tell his story in his own words - from his childhood to his titles with Benetton and Ferrari with all the famous stories from his point of view, but we don't really get it from this book. Still I can recommend it to all Schumacher fans, it's a good read, but could have been a bit better too.

Lovely to read and study - great candid photos

I loved this book - it describes his persistence to be a great driver and the plethora of photos makes it a great "coffee-table" book to flick through and enjoy. It contains details of his F1 appearances and victories also giving details of the cars and pole positions. Probably not one for the people who want bags of technical detail but ideal for the armchair F1 fan. very nicely produced with quality photos.

Essential for F1 fans

Love him or hate him, Michael Schumacher is the modern version of the sporting genius. Six world titles and every F1 World Championship in this current millennium, in which he won all of those with one of the gods of auto racing; Ferrari. This book is a biography of the man who went from German kart star to one of sports true all-time greats. This is a career that spans up to winter testing for the 2003 season. This biography is brilliant and the biographer fantastically depicts Schumi as the dedicated F1 driver and devoted family man. The only problem being that there is too little text and too much pictures. But then again, do fans care? No. This is still a great insight into one of the most naturally gifted sportsman in decades. Buy with no hesitation.

Brilliant Buy - A Must Have!

Bought to me as a present, this book gives a fantastic insight into the genius that is Michael Schumacher. A good opportunity for any true fan to learn about their idol. Slightly too short, with a few too many pictures but still a great read.
