Helped me pass

This book is probably the only book you will need to pass the A+ exams
Well written with good 'real world' advice. I tried loads of A+ books out while studying and I think this book was the best all round.

Does the job

I bought two books whilst studying for the A+ exams; this one, and Jean Andrews book. In the end I ended up using the Jean Andrews book more since I found it to be slightly more reader-friendly and I preferred the layout.
Having said that, this book includes more or less the same information along with practise tests. Personally I'd recommend the Jean Andrews book more highly, but this one (or even a combination of both) will also get you through the exams.

Everything you need

Great book and seems to be considered the defacto book to use. Dunno how good it would be for the new version of the A+ though. The only critisim I had of the book is it could have broken down between the two exams a little better for revision purposes.

Superb reading and ingestion

Just about half way throught his book now and i must say most of what i have read i already know, but it's great to have a refresher. Buy this book if you want to get a fundamental knowledge of the workings of a P.C inside and out...This book really is the Bible for anyone wanting to do the A+ course and Exams..... Forget what the last reviewer had to say as he obviously needs to get back to basics.... Buy this book you will not regret it.

Not the best study guide

I purchased this book whilst studying to take the A+ exam. Unfortunately I did not find the book very helpful neither did my colleagues who were also studying for it. Depending on your level of IT knowledge will determine whether you think this book can be of any use. I had been dabbling in computers for a few years before finding a job in IT so fortunately I knew enough to pass the exam but did not feel that this book contributed to my success in passing the exam. I found that it tended to waffle on too many topics that were not relevant to the exam which also included comments about events in the authors life which had I have wanted to know would've asked him to write an autobiography. I also found some elements of the book to be contradictory
