5 out of 5: An indespensible teaching aid and ongoing reference

I was introduced to this book when I needed to do some nonparametric statistics at work and didn't even know what nonparametric statistics were. I can honestly say this book took me from no knowledge to working knowledge in just a few days (although my background in maths and operational research may have helped).
Each chapter contains the theory of the test, a step by step guide to its application and an example. This is perfect as it allows you to learn it apply it and check it.
The book also contains quick reference tables and statistical tables that are invaluable even when you've got experience.
My only quibble would be that some of the tests are referred to by different names in this book to other references I've used and this can be very confusing - but that's a problem with this area of statistics not with this book.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone needing to use nonparametric statistics.

For those of us frightened by statistics this book is a must

The book is a God send to the the student who is having difficulty dealing with the analysis of their research results. Especially if they know there is something new and exciting in their findings and need a way of supporting their hypothesis and ensuring statistical robustness in their theory. The examples are easy to follow and the quick guide makes it easy to find the test that you should be using.

It has solved many a students problem and saved me showing my lack of memory for which stastistical test to use when.
