For once Ms Robards describes likeable characters. However, I do not think Alec is really romance hero material. A man capable of mudering for money without scruples, who has chosen to take the easy way and kills and steals to get a fortune instead of working hard for it, is not my idea of a romantic hero. He is considerate to Isabella, so she forgets there is blood in his hands and that he does not plan to change his ways. Otherwise, the story is enjoyable.

Robards makes you want to believe in love. . . .

I absolutely loved Alec. He wasn't the traditional perfect hero, but so beautiful and sexy. Isabella was adorable, and you feel absolutely everything she does. In certain scenes you just have laugh aloud. These two are so wonderful together and you actually understand why they have fallen in love, which few other romance novels fail to do convincingly. The very last scene is mind-blowing.
