An excellent purchase for any fan of Simpsons art
|
Got it in the post this morning, and I strongly reccomend it to anyone with a smidgen of drawing talent.
I bought a Cartooning... book years ago, but it was rather vauge and only covered the main characters and didn't reallly explain the little tips that would help to explain the systems the experts use to construct the characters or how to apply the techniques to create different poses ie. how to draw Lisa's hair from different viewpoints and how to adjust her features for the different perspective.
However all that is covered in the book, from how to change perspectives, how to construct every little detail of the characters, layouts and construction tips for the family's different outfits, winter clothes, nightwear, church clothes etc. Guides for all the main supporting characters, Wiggum is based on a donut, who'd a thunk it, as well as backgrounds and locations from around Springfield.
It has so much stuff, it nearly makes me think I could pull off a half decent picture myself, so just imagine what it could do for people with actual talent.
So for all you arty types, and anyone like me who can't draw a straight line but enjoy comic art, go order it, order it NOW!!!
