The best biography I have ever read.

I loved this book. If you are interested in the world of lesbianism and literature in the victorian Era then this book is for you! It extensively details the vivacious Natalie Barney's life with an astonishing background of research considering that Miss. Barney was born in 1877! Rodriguez manages to put all the information into a nicely flowing, easy-to-read book, and keep the book as accurate as possible by including all the sources which she has gathered information from. There are a few photographs in the book, although it could do with some more.
Although detailing many of Natalie's affairs (all with women, obviously)this book has maintained a respectful tone without descending into the arena of the "cheap thrills lesbo book".
Overall, the book was an excellent portrait of a woman so ahead of her time, yet who has sadly been forgotten.
