The perfect companion for fans of the show. A rarity to find a book from a series that doesn’t feel like shameless cash in, but genuinely expands on the shows concept, offering an alternate perspective of every episode from the eyes of prisoner Augustus Hill. The extra factual information contained about the American justice system and its prisons move the book from great to excellent. A different side of Oz

|
Oz is television prison drama shown very rarely on C4. As a British fan of Oz i find it extremely frustrating that we cannot get Oz products ie. DVD'S books and magazine articles. So when i heard about this book i was delighted and it met my expectations completely. This book provides an episode guide with a difference, it is written in the form of a diary and we get to see a different side of the events of what we've seen on tv, from the viewpoint of a prisoner on the sidelines, Augustus Hill. Not only does the book contain this alternate episode guide but sidebars on real prisons, lists of the 'casualties' of Oz, a message from Tom Fontana and another episode guide. This is an amazing book and i recomend it to all fans and even to people who haven't yet watched Oz but are fans of other HBO drama's like The Soprano's.
