I am finding this book really hard going, it ends chapters with things like and then it all changed or life will not be the same again it is just really drawn out and i am not enjoying it, but i will finish it but i would not recommend it as a good read.

Certainly not one for the Teenagers!

I'd been aquainted with David Thomas - the author, on a professional basis for a number of years, without any knowledge of his remarkably painful upbringing, which this Sunday Times best seller has now revealed. It's one of those books that dares you to put it down, such is the never-ending turmoil that constantly surprises you with each turn of the page. That a young person can survive such an upbringing is startling. That he ends up achieving what he does in life, as well as forgiving those who did their best to countenance it, is nothing short of remarkable. I always had a suspicion the world would eventually hear more of David Thomas. To me, the revelations and forgiveness chronicled in this book confirm those thoughts. It's not a book to leave lying around for teenagers, but the author completes the difficult task of explaining what often (through pain) precedes the makeup of a truly caring individual. A very good read.
