This book is good. It's well written and humorous. It will be your pal when you're distraught and teach you how to navigate through a difficult time with your head high. I only wish I had it seven years ago- it would have saved me a lot of time & heartache!
It's written like the authors genuinely care and is must have tlc!

Really, just what you need

at a time when the bottom of your world has fallen out - particularly when it's through no fault or doing of your own.
My husband of 13 years decided to have a mid life crisis (at the age of 44!) and came home one day, said he wanted his own space and promptly left. The bottom of my world fell out. I suppose to make matters worst, I have MS and am not in a position to just get up and restart a new life elsewhere. So you could say I really felt shafted.
The shock (this happened in the space of 12 hours) and trauma left me reeling and feeling like I was living in a parallel universe. Then a good friend sent me this book and yowza yowza, does it hit home - in a way friends never could.
There are points made here which will leave you cringing (yep, I did that), nodding your head (as in been there, done that) and with the realisation that a. you're not alone, b. other people make complete fools out of themselves and c. no, he's not coming back, yes, it is over and no, the world (or your life) hasn't ended.
If you are at this stage in your life, you need strength, pride and the wherewithal to move on. This book - through its humour, insight and no punches pulled approach will help you achieve that. If you have the physical and mental wherewithal to put what's happened behind you, then do it and use the wisdom this book offers to help you.

This really helped me through a difficult time

This book is the most insightful, helpful, self help book I have ever read. It's humorous and well written. They really seem to understand your crazy, mixed up head during a difficult break up. Written mostly by Greg, it's really nice to have a male point of view, that men do suffer through break ups too.
Once I finished reading it, I felt disappointed that it was over! I felt like I'd lost a friend. So I often pick up the book when I'm feeling a bit down and it never fails to make me smile and feel better, reading random chapters of the book.

For those going through the bitterness of being heartbroken

I really cannot recommend this book enough to anyone who is feeling emotionally crippled by a relationship. I am not a keen reader and although I love America I was really put off by reading a book written by 2 Americans.
Ok, so they call you a "superfox" and "hot stuff" but it's all written tongue-in-cheek and designed to cheer you up when you're at your lowest (which I can assure you, it does!!) and you'll struggle to put the book down once you start I promise!! In fact I am not ashamed to say I read this book at least 10 times during my 2 month mini nightmare!!
So why is it so good?
It's brutally honest!!
I am the kind of person who questions everything: How could it end when he's the one? What's he thinking about/doing right now? How would he react if I accidentally on purpose "bumped" into him at his favorite pub? Does he still care about me? Is there any point in trying to get over this if he's coming back? etc.....
The book is structured in 2- answering all common relationship questions (predominantly written by Greg who provides a guy's perspective!!) and then how to get over it. Throughout, the book contains real life scenarios which you can really relate to and make you aware of just how vulnerable you are to making an absolute prat of yourself when your emotions are pulling you in every direction. The result, you finish the book with closure ready to get back into the world as a strong dignified woman with a smile on your face. And then if you succomb to a mini depressive state later on pick up the book again. It really does work and you'll be recommending this book to all your friends!!

In order to get over it you have to go through it

I'm so glad I stumbled upon IT'S CALLED A BREAK UP BECAUSE IT'S BROKEN by Greg Behrendt & Amiira Ruotola-Behrendt. I wish I'd read it a year ago! Because then I'm sure I wouldn't have let my broken three-year "relationship" drag on so long...putting up with such poor treatment, nor would I have gone so berserko when the new lady entered my used-to-be-a-dreamboat's world. I am positive this book would have jump started my better judgement and helped my recuperation begin much, much quicker. Needless to say I found this book VERY, VERY, VERY helpful....mostly because the overall message is: HE'S NOT COMING BACK, now it's time to incorporate that idea into your behavior, environment and your plans for the future. The book encourages you to go through the process with as much grace as possible, while creating a better version of yourself as you move through the healing process.
The tone of the book is energetic and amusing---and the message is necessarily repetitive, because when you're sad with a broken heart it's so easy to indulge in nostalgia and delusions. I had to pace myself so I wouldn't read it all in a day.
I HIGHLY recommend it.
