Used it for school

I used this for school and it wasn't bad at all. I mean, one could say that when you are making a book of poetry for school exam purposes you could just bung all of the relevant poems together and let the kids get on with trying to understand them. But for the first time, I found that this didn't happen, and I recieved useful information about the poets' histories and inspiration which really aided my interpretation of the poems. There were also illustrations on each page, which had been chosen out of war art etc. so that they were linked with the subject of the poem, and were interesting in themselves. I actually found myself skimming through the whole of the book, not just the poems I needed to study, and there are several eye catchers. The most interesting thing for me, was the inclusion of the drafts of two of Owen's poems, and you could actually see filled out the basic plan of each poem, and tried different things before he fixed on the phrasing eventually used, to great effect.
