Customer Reviews:
Trash
This is one of the biggest wastes of paper I have ever read. All of the reviewers below who say that they couldn't see where it was going are clearly as stupid as the prat who wrote this. Luckily I managed to palm this off onto someone who hadn't heard of it and thusly recouping my investment.
Stupid, stupid, stupid
This is a book with no entertainment value whatsoever ; bad writing; unfunny jokes ; a stupid and hilariously un-hilarious twisty plot that has been done with considerbly more style in the past and irritating narration. The "jokes" are so broad that the book has no focus and the shock-horror ending is entirely predictable as an earlier reviewer wrote - if you're paying attention you'll get it. Save yourself some cash and don't buy this rather expensive lavatory paper.
Fantastic
This book is fantastic. From the moment you pick it up you cannot put it down. The twin lines of the story make for a good twist and turn potential - however this is held for one final BIG twist!
If you live in the Midlands then be prepared for a wry look at yourself - and its quite spot on! In fact this was so funny I bought a copy for my mate - now back home in Dudley - she loves the digs at her home town and its neighbours!
I really recommend this book - but not if you are expecting a traditional murder mystery - it is far removed from that - in fact the murders are pretty insignificant to the tale!
Utter Rubbish
Seldom have I read a book so self-satisfied as this. Seldom have I read a book that tries so desperately to be funny and fails in a quite pathetic way that doesn't even rescue it from cult obscurity. If you have any sense you won't touch this predictable nonsense with a barge pole.
A disappointment
I'm not sure if I read the same book as these people. I found it very smug, the author obviously pleased that he had found a twist and was going to tease the audience. But it was well telegraphed from near the start and the author fairly cheats in the scenes with the younger Sam and the descriptions of that child's family (to give nothing away. But if you're paying attention you'll get it anyway). It's also not terribly funny, and most of the characters, save for the two Sams are complete cariacatures. All in all, a very average book.
