Become a Cartoonist in Minutes

Very easy steps to follow to produce all your favourite Simpson's characters. It really is child's play, my 12 year old produced a Bart in a very short space of time. A lovely creative book for anyone who likes the Simpsons.

Short but sweet

This book is basically an abridged version of the character sheets used on the Simpsons show, with a few extra notes inserted, so there isn't much to actually read. The foward by Matt Groening is amusing and has some useful pearls of wisdom buried in it for the budding cartoonist. The tips given in the book are very good and are a boost to anyone wanting to draw Sinpsons characters, or indeed any cartoon characters as a lot of the tricks and tips can be applied to forms other than yellow people with freakish overbites. The only real critism I have of this book is that it is too short and scimps on some important areas like body language, prop drawing, construction of hands and the like. The content which is there is very good, there just needs to be more of it.

What a waste
|
|
When I bought this book, I was falsely led to believe that it would unlock all the secrets to drawing "The Simpsons" characters. In truth, if you aren't already an expert cartoonist and you don't have oodles of time to spend studying these instructions, this book is a total waste. So, unless you are the hardest of the hard core fans, don't bother with this book!

Cool, but I thought it was more fun

When you want to draw The Simpsons, but don't know how to, this is a good book. But it doesn't teaches you how to start, or tips if things are wrong.

Short, yes, but very useful, specially for young cartoonists
