This is an interesting book, as the man made of dice goes about his daily adventures in reason, saving the world from his evil nemisis, reality.
Or Not. Perhaps the dice told me to say that...... :)

This is the only book I have ever read twice. Sure, its probably not a literacy masterpiece, but a truly original concept. Genius is the product of originality and I truly believe this book falls into that category. It is an autobiographic book that covers the daily life of Dr Luke, as he follows fate into living his life by the dice. It touches on boundaries of rape, murder and adultery and shocked me as the reader, wanting me to read more. Hard to put down, well written and truly one of the few books I have read that doesn't just touch on `originality', but embraces it into a new genre.

Not a book for all

I consider my self quite open minded in terms of the range of books I read and enjoy. Most novels I read, I am quickly engulfed for start to finish, but this book begs to differ. I've read a few stinkers in my time and none more than this novel. I forced my self to read chapter after chapter but eventually gave up around half way point. The writing style is hard to interoperate and at times I've thought to my self, what is this guy talking about? Who is this character he's babbling about? The story line up to half way point is quite one dimensional and after spending the last few hours reading the novel I finally gave up. None other books have quite left me with such negative feelings and less enjoying in reading, I guess I'll join on the bandwagon in those who hate this book.
Summing up, what exactly have I taken from this book? One mans bore with society, random rambling chapter after chapter with general society, one dimensional in the storyline, the need for sexual gratification to survive everyday. These topics interests you any anyway, by means buy a copy today, read it, praise it, but for me, reading it is the worse book I've ever read.

This book is great fun - thought-provoking, irreverent, funny and very clever. It does take a few pages to get into, but once you get it there is no going back. A cult classic for a reason...
