good for portugeuse speakers studying english...

...but not the other way round. Why this is advertised as good for portugeuse learners I'll never know. I kept having to refer to the little phrase book at the back to decipher and backwards translate from the portugeuse.

I bought this little dictionary because the one I already had (which I bought in Portugal) wasn't very good - a lot of the translations were wrong and many times I just couldn't find certain words in there. Not so with this little fella! It's thicker than my other one, because it's got everything in - every word I've needed so far has been in here. Also something I really like about this book is that it has little 'information boxes' dotted throughout the text, giving the reader some background information on some of the words. So it's like a bigger, more informative phrasebook/dictionary, but nice and tiny to fit in a pocket or a small space-saving shoulder bag. Oh and you can even look up a word and see that it's a different form of a verb because it tells you what the verb is - I've never seen that in a dictionary before! I'm so pleased with this book! It's essential for learning Portuguese!
