This book describes a historical time within international cricket, a time when cricket was split into two. This book is an excellant account of the Packer intervention from Henry Blofeld who's report clearly shows the tension within cricket in 1977-1978. Blofeld has a written a thoughtful, critical and above anything else interesting book, which, transports the cricket lover round the world as Blofeld reports on tests matches from Austrialia, New Zealand, England, India, Pakistan and the West Indies. As this book is written at the time of the controversies it poses many qustions and with the benefit of the knowledge we have now we can see how cricket was changed forever. This book is a must for cricket historians and also for those of us (myself included) who were not there at the time a chance to read about how cricket was and how corporate business shook it up.
